COVANCE is a leading global drug development services company and we provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Contract Analyst who will perform contract management tasks on medium to high complexity projects as assigned for the Clinical Pharmacology business.

This role is to either to be based in the UK or the USA.

Duties -
  • Perform contract management tasks on medium complexity projects, as assigned*
  • Develop, review and negotiate Confidentiality Agreements, Letters of Intent, Services/Consulting Agreements, Laboratory Service Agreements, Master Services Agreements, and Price and Payment Schedules.*
  • Lead negotiations for all assigned Agreements with moderate management/subject matter expert support*
  • Develop a working knowledge of the differences between Covance business units and is able to apply that knowledge to insure proper contract terms for all types of studies.
  • Perform cash flow analysis and generate payment schedules for Agreements in accordance with Contract Management guidelines*
  • Adhere to Contract Management policies and process
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance from a contracting perspective
  • Assist/mentor staff including providing pre-submission review and approval of staff's signature documents in accordance with the Contract Management review guidelines, as assigned
  • Follow up on outstanding contract issues for resolution to meet internal and external deadlines and to minimize business and legal risk
  • Work cross-functionally within the client experience team to resolve contract and billing issues in a timely manner
  • Assists in maintaining globally harmonized contract processes and relationships within the global Client Experience Teams
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives intended to improve global delivery of contracts within Early Development
  • Perform accurate maintenance of CMS (e.g. timely and accurate data entry)
  • Provide accurate updates on all outstanding contractual documents to Management on a weekly basis or as otherwise required through required systems or tracking mechanisms
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications:
Minimum required: BA or BS in business or life science (or equivalent experience)
Experience:Minimum Required:
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industry with contract management related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated teamwork, communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Excel and Word (intermediate)
  • Problem Solving and Negotiation skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Experience and comfort in a high volume, fast paced environment is essential
