Barrington James are excited to post a fantastic opportunity for one of our close clients. This company are a small CRO that have exploded in size in the last two years. They have been backed by some serious investors in the industry and after five rounds of funding, they are looking to expand their clinical operations team in Europe. This opportunity is perfect for someone who is ambitious and does not want to be in a static environment as part of a large company.

  • Point of contact and leader for UK sites and projects
  • Oversight of projects including deliverables from all areas and vendors in accordance with timeline, and sponsor specifications
  • Develops systems and procedures for effective project management and clinical operation
  • Takes on training responsibilities including supervising, mentoring and motivating team as an active part of the leadership group
  • Determines needed program processes and assists in development of training programs for Clinical Operations personnel
  • Manages performance of all service providers, encouraging growth, development and responsibility
  • Approves project grants, expense reports and financial records
  • Assess quality, financial health and customer relations
  • Defines and oversees timelines, milestones and scope of work limitations
  • Support clinical study leaders in assignment of needed resources for project conduct and completion with functional area leaders; ensures appropriate staffing to accomplish project goals within budget
  • Conducts trials in accordance with SOPs and GCPs
  • Participates in business development activities, including proposal pricing and bid defence meetings; working with senior members of the organisation and commercial team
  • Identify project successes for tracking, analysis and report probability
  • Develop, manage, and oversee adherence to project budget and contracts and assists in the identification and development of scope change documents
  • Oversees project status, timelines, and budget expenditures; identified potential problems and initiates solutions
  • Ensures compliance of vendors with study protocols, Good Clinical Practices, worldwide regulatory requirements, SOPs and company policies, quality standards and guidelines.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in quality audits (from internal and external regulatory bodies), as well as in regulatory inspections
  • Ensure that study activities are properly tracked and entered into the company’s time tracking/project management/resource planning software tool in a timely manner
  • Accountable for development, oversight and delivery of personnel training in key areas

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical/CRO experience needed
  • Ability to travel necessary
