OUR COMPANY

At Boehringer Ingelheim we develop breakthrough therapies and innovative healthcare solutions in areas of unmet medical need for both humans and animals. As a family owned company, we focus on long-term performance. We believe that, if we have talented and ambitious people who are passionate about innovation, there is no limit to what we can achieve; after all, we started with just 28 people. Now, we are powered by 50,000 employees globally who nurture a diverse, collaborative and inclusive culture.

THE POSITION

In this role you are the central expert for IT production planning solutions. Your focus lies on our global Operations Planning template including further development and connection to our existing planning related solutions such as our global SAP ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system:
  • You work closely with colleagues in the global process management organization, selected key users and business stakeholders to plan, design and implement the required planning solutions for BI including handover to RUN support.
  • In addition, you work with other IT functions to manage the full system lifecycle (design, build, operate and decommission) of global IT systems and applications in a pharmaceutical regulated environment and associated documentation requirements.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role, you act as an expert for the Operations Planning Systems on a technical and process level - working closely with adjacent process units such as logistics, quality assurance and work preparation.
  • In close coordination with other IT Business Consultants and Systems Analysts in IT, you support the harmonization, simplification and automation of IT services and processes.
  • You facilitate integration across team boundaries, systems, processes and SAP modules. You consider the relevant stakeholders from our business units, global process management and within global IT.
  • Taking into account the relevant business requirements, best practices and SAP standard solutions, you analyze and model planning processes and implement them in the system - not being afraid to make independent parameterizations and customizations in the system.
  • In the area of supply chain planning, you support process, architecture and roadmap decisions.
  • In consultation with key business stakeholders, you identify, evaluate and prioritize requirements to ensure successful implementation of projects or system enhancements.
  • In collaboration with our EOC Service Delivery unit, you find creative and innovative solutions in the maintenance and 3rd level support of our systems.
  • You prepare required documentation in accordance with GxP regulations for validation of computer systems in a pharmaceutical environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems or comparable professional experience in technical processes with extensive knowledge of planning processes in the process industry
  • Several years of IT professional experience, including a proven track record of implementing SAP or SAP-based supply chain planning solutions - preferably with a consulting background
  • Extensive knowledge in the process flows of a supply chain in the pharmaceutical industry including the adjacent process areas
  • Strong concept development & solution design skills, including configuration and customization in SAP ERP (S/4 HANA) and/or other SAP-based systems are essential
  • Experience in leading complex IT projects and knowledge of agile methodologies to develop ideas/innovations and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Expertise in building partnerships and collaborating with others to achieve common team goals
  • Excellent presentation skills with a very high level of personal responsibility and motivation to learn about new topics, coupled with an independent and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Fluent communication skills in German and English (verbal and written) as well as willingness to lead international projects, including on site

EFFECTS OF COVID-19

We will continue to hire talented people and we look forward to receiving your applications. As a result of COVID-19, we have introduced alternative working arrangements to ensure that our employees can stay safe and healthy, because the health of our employees is among our top priorities. At all company locations, we work remotely whenever possible. Additionally, we are now hosting virtual video interviews for applicants. During the limited in-person interviews we still have during this time, we pay special attention to distance and the hygiene rules recommended by the Robert Koch Institute. New employees who do not start on site in production or the laboratories are sent the necessary IT equipment, our Welcome Days take place online, and we plan to conduct their onboarding training virtually whenever possible.
