Job Details

SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting is accountable for leading revenue related analysis and activities including but not limited to revenue accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and audit activities across the organization. This position ensures that the Company develops, implements, and maintains the requisite global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls related to revenue to strengthen the Company’s financial control environment. The Sr Manager, Revenue Accounting manages the development of a team and execution of effective accounting practices to enable and support a multi-jurisdiction operating model, collaborating with business stakeholders globally, while ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process related to revenue
  • Provide leadership in revenue related accounting system/process development, implementation, and ongoing execution
  • Record revenue / receivable adjustments in the month end closing process along with other accounting duties as assigned.
  • Prepare necessary revenue reporting to internal management, investors and auditors as required.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc forecasting reports
  • Ensure that an appropriate segregation of duties is maintained within the revenue function
  • Design and implement efficient and automated systems and processes solutions where appropriate
  • Responsible for comprehensive documentation of all revenue related accounting policies and procedures with formal change control and policy alignment
  • Responsible for ensuring that all revenue related compliance activities, internal controls, and policies are followed appropriately, including remediation where necessary
  • Oversee all revenue accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and IFRS standards and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for providing leadership for all day-to-day finance operations and supervising accounting staff related to revenue recognition
  • Responsible for evaluating new revenue related accounting and reporting requirements and their impact on the company’s financial statements and disclosures
  • Ensure all external and internal users of financial data receive accurate financial information in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate with multiple parties both internal and external to the organization, to include Tax and Audit, to deliver financial reporting necessary to ensure all requirements as they relate to revenue are met
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and identify opportunities for development and growth of staff

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Prior experience within CRO or pharmaceutical sectors preferred
  • Experience in a service business and working in a global organization is required
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced and evolving organization


REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years of global accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required, Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA required
  • Demonstrated ability to research, document, and implement solutions to emerging accounting issues to include both U.S. GAAP and IFRS
  • Knowledge of ASC 605 and 606
  • Familiarity with advanced formulas in MS Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience with cloud-based ERP systems preferred
  • Focus on delivering effective and efficient accounting process solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Global cultural orientation and working experience
  • Ability to create new and unique ideas and an entrepreneurial spirit a plus
  • Must demonstrate good judgment and mature business skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Some global travel may be required
