Summary of the Position :

Novavax is embarking on an exciting HR transformation initiative. Moving to Workday® as the core HCM platform is part of the wider transformation exercise.

We are looking for a Senior Workday® Manager to be part of this new exciting team. Applicant should have deep expertise in two or more areas that include: Core HCM, Recruitment, Advanced compensation, Talent Management, Peakon Employee Voice, Reporting and Advanced Analytics. Selected individual will be part of the core Implementation team and responsible to partner with our work stream leads gathering requirements and defining the new TO-BE processes.

Individual will be a key member of Novavax HRIS team responsible for the design and delivery of innovative solutions using various HR Tech platforms. This group is responsible for delivering the best employee experience, automation and enable our HR teams to focus on the highest-value work through operational excellence, technology and analytics. This is an exciting new role in optimizing our capabilities and investment in our foundational new HCM platform (Workday®) and engaging our key stakeholders, inclusive of Functional Process Owners, Center of excellence ,HR teams supporting the business and People Leaders .

You will be involved in our Workday® roadmap as we expand our global presence across Europe and Asia and provide a first class employee experience. We are open to remote locations and prefer someone who can collaborate across multiple time zones with a focus on EST.

Location & Work Arrangement

This job is based in the United States and offers a fully remote work arrangement. Candidates to be based in EST (preferred) or CST.

Core Responsibilities :

Senior Workday® Manager is expected to be able to perform under limited supervision and with independent decision-making certain key responsibilities including, but not limited to:
  • Take on a functional lead role in the execution of HR projects that includes various technologies, drives automation and improve efficiencies. Leads the project management and execution of HRIS lead initiatives.
  • Be the champion for Workday® optimization and provide subject matter expertise on Workday® best practices and partner with Process Owners to understand pain points, identify opportunities to improve processes and gain efficiencies
  • Good understanding of Workday® ’s Business Process Framework. Act as Workstream SME and Lead for minimum 2 modules during the Implementation of Workday® and be an expert in Workday®
  • Identify trends in the technology market place including AI , automation and work with HRIS leadership on opportunities for enhancements that adds value to the business delivering great employee experience.
  • Responsible for maintenance of HCM business rules, configurations, security model and performing all necessary system updates as needed.
  • Take lead in evaluating quarterly release, working with IT and COE leads in testing , identifying impacts, documenting changes and training core team on new functionalities.
  • Monitor Workday® community to stay abreast of best practices, new features and Implement value added features.
  • Serve as core HR data owner. Responsible for maintaining data accuracy and integrity of core HR data, audits (internal and external) maintaining confidentiality of the data at all times.
  • Work closely with the external Vendor teams, HR and Payroll COE, IT, end users and be responsible for the day to day Workday® support for the global HR team.
  • Workday® Tenant management by partnering with IT.
  • Lead and Support year-end and other annual HR cycle activities as needed.
  • Partner closely with our IT team to continuously improve Workday® Service Delivery processes that ensure fast time to value and an engaging experience for our stakeholders.
  • Support Service Now HRSD .

Minimum Qualifications :

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications
  • Education: 4-year University degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years of experience and a Master’s degree
  • 6 or more years of experience supporting major HRIS platforms with minimum 4 years on Workday® (focus on two or more functional areas).
  • Experience with Global organizations having operations in North America , EMEA

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Minimum 1 Workday® full life cycle Implementation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Hire to Retire HR Business processes including Integration with Payroll.
  • Experience in design, configuration, implementation of Core HR Workday® HCM, Talent, Recruitment, On-boarding, Compensation, Peakon Employee Voice, Advanced Analytics, Workday® Security model (expertise in minimum 2 functional areas)
  • Workday® Service Now Integration experience.
  • General knowledge of Workday® reporting and dash boards strongly preferred.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel for analysis of data (Candidate needs to be highly proficient in Excel including use of formulas, functions).
  • Ability to compile large amounts of data and synthesize into actionable information
  • Solid oral and written communication skills with the ability to frame communications for key customer groups.
  • Strong collaboration with all departments , negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Licenses & Certifications: Workday® Certification in at least one module a plus
  • Automation

Knowledge Skills & Abilities
  • Experience in the Pharmaceuticals Biotech industry a plus
