The Role:

A Data Scientist supports strategic projects, technical support and consultancy for the delivery of technology services to support the global business processes. You will develop an understanding of the Early Development and Chemistry services business, assisting in prioritization of technology / data analysis initiatives and ensuring that they align with the overall global business strategy.

A Data Scientist is responsible for executing data mining activities in coordination with project teams with supervision. You will develop, create, verify/validate and maintain managing the data links for assigned projects in compliance with standard operating procedures and given the opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment within the data and technology group.

In simple terms, you'll be involved in taking raw data from preclinical and clinical databases, as well as from external vendors, and using a variety of tools, convert this raw data into industry or client standard dataset formats, prior to using the datasets to create tables, figures and listing which present the data collected.

You'll develop a number of soft skills, including; communication, scheduling, team-working, quality focus, taking the initiative and proactivity. It is also a great chance to experience a career in a world leading environment and learn from highly experienced team members.

 

You will learn the following:

Production of data queries, visualizations and data sets to the required specification. This involves production of queries in tools such as Spotfire and Tableau, to meet internal and external client specifications.

Learn to develop content sharing solution with tools such as SharePoint

How to validate electronic solutions in line with industry standards.

Good time management and organization skills, the ability to prioritize own work to meet tight deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of work.

Effective communication skills; a co-operative and team orientated approach.
