Summary:

My client is an exciting Pharmaceutical company that cover various therapeutic areas including Pain, Oncology and Respiratory. They are seeking an experienced, dynamic Communications Lead who will play an integral role within the communications team and help to build and maintain a dynamic, innovative and proactive core business function.  This right candidate will be working closely with the Director of Communications and be key in supporting business objectives, creating value & delivering results and input indirectly into operational strategy.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build brand awareness through developing and executing strategies aligned to corporate positioning and branding
  • Provide valuable strategic communications support to the brand team and execute subsequent tactics with KPIs
  • Raise visibility of clinical and regulatory milestones
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy and objectives and corporate communications goals
  • Map, build, maintain and enhance connectivity and relationships with top tier media and industry commentators / analysts, and act as a key corporate contact for journalists
  • Lead in establishing and maintaining strong relationships to key corporate stakeholders, professional organisations, advocacy groups and other third parties
  • Provide communications support to the Director of Communications, as necessary
  • Build and maintain a strong and positive network of key internal stakeholders throughout client’s network of independent associated companies (IACs) in Europe, as well as other regions (US, Canada, Emerging Markets). 
  • Effective budget management as required and manage agencies, sub-contractors and third-party suppliers
  • Ensure all activities are ethical and compliant and maintain a thorough knowledge of the relevant Codes of Practice (e.g. ABPI, EFPIA) and industry regulations. 

 

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree – Science, Journalism, Public Relations
  • Fluent in English; excellent writing and oral communication skills; additional language skills a plus
  • Proficient understanding of the international pharmaceutical and biotech / healthcare market and environment, with strong external networks
  • Experience of Pharma brand communications with proven results of successful campaigns
  • Solid knowledge of media and social media with proven track record of successful campaigns
  • Strong organisational management skills including time management, workload prioritization, multi-tasking and sharp business acumen
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory environment and of clinical trial processes
