At our pre-clinical development site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we currently recruiting for aTechnical Specialistto join ourGenetic Toxicologydepartment.



As a Technical Specialist, you will assist the research and assess the feasibility of new methods for current study designs with in our Aerosol R&D section within the Genetic Toxicology department. You will be the scientific and technical expert as well as provide operational support for the method development and validation carried out within the laboratory. Other duties include:


  • Accountability for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness and soundness of scientific and technical judgement for all operational work performed
  • Maintain, clean and calibrate equipment used for method development/validation processes
  • Perform laboratory procedures, and any other related duties as assigned
  • Act as a specialist in technical aspects for standard and non-standard assays within chosen scientific discipline
  • Perform assays (standard and non-standard) as required in assigned area(s))
  • Works with Project Lead/team members to conduct and co-ordinate method development, validation and non-study work
  • Maintains study data, method development and validation documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Score (where appropriate) and generates assay end point data \u2013 produce, format, assess validity and interpret any data generated during the course of study/method validation work.
  • Develop ability to recommend further work based on results obtained during method development and validation work
  • Communicate data/findings to Project Lead
  • Acts as end user/SME for software validation of new equipment and conducts periodic review as required

About You:
  • Newly qualified PhD working in a relevant research field or MSc/Mphil in Genetic Toxicology
  • Knowledge of Genetic Toxicology Standard Battery of assays as required by ICH/OECD guidelines.
  • Strong scientific background and practical experience
  • Excellent organisational and investigative skills
  • Communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to utilise word-processing software, databases, spreadsheet and specialised software
  • Knowledge and understanding of GLP and other regulatory guidelines (OECD, ICH)

Education/Qualifications:
